The Max I owned for 3 years in the 60’s, my first bike, was my best bike. My Honda CX 500 came close, but the high c of g stopped it being the best. I always though the NSU would be much better looking in another colour than the black available, and your photos confirm this. With 12V electrics and a Keihin digital fuel-injection unit mounted instead of the Bing, and a disc brake up front, the NSU is, to mind mind, not only one of the best bikes ever made, but as modern as, and far better than, any bike available on the market today. The quality was astounding. The Rolls Royce of motorcycles. A bike you can ride and enjoy for a lifetime …and leave for the next generation to enjoy.
